what is metal club mökä?

"metal club mökä is mainly about listening to hevay metal music and residual actitivies related to it, such as frying satan, staring at teletubbies and using illegal drugs. metal club mökä is responsible for most of the terrorist attacks and violations of human rights in the world. we have gained a reputation all over the world for the numerous diseses we have developed, some most famous of which are sars, malaria and bird flue." or perhaps not quite...

heavy metal music is the most important thing in the world. it is impossible to live without bass drums and distorted guitars. no other style of music has the same kind of power! if you think like this, join mökä. if you don't - join mökä and you'll soon start thinking in the right way. metal club mökä is a student organization for people into heavy metal music, and also other people than TKK students interested in joining are welcome. mökä was established in 1998 and has approximately 500 members.

mökä's most frequent events are sauna evenigs, which we have about once a month (except for in the summer). they are located either in otaniemi or in leppävaara. you can bring your own music, drinks, a towel and shampoo to the sauna place - or you can just hang out and sozialize. mökä has also a club room for hanging out and listening to music. it's located in Jämeräntaival 7A.

mökä usually organizes one or two bigger live shows with bands a year, and two smaller ones with one or two bands and music videos. other acitivities include heavy-bar hopping, live concerts and festivals. take a look at the calendar to see what's going on.

So you are wondering what the hell is Mökä Club. Well, it is basically about sharing the common attitude towards life, boozing and headbanging. It might sound cliche but we are the true brothers of metal. And also sisters, let's not be sexist.

Mökä Club organizes sauna evenings every month where people get together, chat, get wasted and headbang of course. For those who haven't been in Finland for long time, sauna is very important part of the Finnish culture, a bathing ritual, and Mökä Club's sauna evening is a "must attend" activity for a headbanger.

Mökä Club also organizes concerts where you can have the chance to listen some Finnish bands live, and video evenings where you can also bring your favourite ripping tune and turn people's heads into ventilators.

Tell me the first word that comes to into your mind, when I say "metal, fun, booze, concerts, booze, concerts, metal, concerts". Yeah, you're right. It is festival! As you might already know there's a fucking lot of rock/metal festivals here in Finland and naturally Mökä people are those who fill the mosh pit and do every kind of crazy things there.
